Isn’t it curious when a “Bear Conservation” group lobbies twice to defeat the Black Bear Protection Act and delist the Wolf? (documents and links below.)
It’s not so surprising when you see that
the group partners with the NRA on sport-hunting legislation (http://www.wildlifepartners.org/partners/).
Their many efforts include repackaging a
“bullet-based” conservation philosophy into a grade-school education program as
administrated by their own in-house hired biologist. Ironically, Bear Trust gets its foot in the door to communities through the dubious offer of a bear-proof dumpster.
Bear Trust International has never been so
much about bear as about sport hunters’ rights, as evidenced by their legislative efforts and affiliations.
These documents were recently hosted on the Wildlife Partners' site listed above, but they were smart enough to eliminate them from public view.
Bear Trust also lobbied a year later to defeat the reintroduced bill: http://maplight.org/us-congress/bill/111-hr-3480/375345/history
